I have five profiles and five gateways running. Can one process serve all of them? What do I lose? ======================================================================== https://docs.nexialismo.ai/en/hermes-topologia-tenho-cinco-profiles-cinco-gateways-rodando-ter Hermes Agent v0.19.0, topology axis, by José Carlos Amorim, at Nexialismo. In one sentence: yes. hermes config set gateway.multiplex_profiles true on the default profile (it owns the multiplexer) and restart its gateway. It is opt-in and off by default. You lose process-level isolation (shared crash domain, no restarting one profile without touching the others) and you gain one PID, one lock, and a single thing to monitor. Credentials are not shared. The same question, asked other ways ----------------------------------- - how do I run several Hermes profiles with a single gateway? - gateway.multiplex_profiles, what changes when I turn it on? - one process per profile or multiplexing, which do I pick? - why did my secondary gateway turn into an error after I enabled multiplexing? The trap in this question ------------------------- If you already run this: turning the flag on in a secondary profile. It belongs to the DEFAULT profile, which owns the multiplexer. Second trap: keeping a webhook configured on a secondary profile after enabling multiplexing. That does not bring the gateway down, it skips the entire profile with a warning while the others stay healthy, so the symptom is one mute profile and nothing obviously broken. Third: writing profile_routes with multiplexing off. The routes are simply ignored, with no error. The command you can paste ------------------------- coder gateway install && coder gateway start personal-bot gateway install && personal-bot gateway start hermes config set gateway.multiplex_profiles true hermes gateway restart gateway: multiplex_profiles: true How to confirm it on your own install ------------------------------------- If you have never seen this before: this command reads the state of your own Hermes Agent instance and changes nothing. Run it before believing any answer, including this one. hermes config get gateway.multiplex_profiles ; hermes status ; hermes gateway list Without that identifier, the state is NOT VERIFIED, even with clean output. Who ran Hermes Agent in this document ------------------------------------- This text is by José Carlos Amorim, published at Nexialismo on 2026-07-28. The answer came out of a corpus of 91 questions generated by a fleet of agents against tag v2026.7.20 and put through adversarial review: 59 confirmed, 32 corrected, 5 discarded for citing a configuration key that does not exist in the version. The full corpus lives at https://docs.nexialismo.ai/pt/hermes.
